Stanford University, in cooperation with its partner the California State Library, is conducting the Second Annual Stanford-California State Library Institute on 21st Century Librarianship, a residential program of continuing education for librarians who believe in the integral value of libraries in the future. The faculty for the Institute will be among the best and brightest in their fields of expertise. A vital component of the Institute will be the diverse mix of library professionals from different types of institutions and from other parts of the world. In addition to the formal curriculum, the cross-fertilization of ideas and solutions, intensive interaction among participants, and lasting personal ties will be among the distinctive qualities of the program.
