Ilene Abramson Just a brief note to introduce myself to this fine group of peers. I have been a librarian at Los Angeles Public Library for 27 years. I have worked in branches as a children's, young adult and adult librarian. I have acted as branch supervisor and for the past four years as the Senior Librarian of the Children's Literature Department in the Central Library. Currently, I am acting Coordinator of Children's Services for LAPL. I received my MLS from University of Southern California in 1973 and my BA in Social Science and Communication in 1972 from USC. I have a great husband and two fine kids. My daughter is getting her library degree in August so I feel I have done my part in the recruitment area. My son is partying in college. Oh well. It will be wonderful to spend a week getting to know you all. I will be at ALA and hope to hook up with some of you there. Thanks in advance for all the fun and stimulating conversations we will share. Looking forward to meeting you all!
