Sandi Kaplan Banks

Sandi Banks It has been fun to read about my fellow participants. I am a "veteran" librarian. I graduated from the University of Denver in 1970 before computers were used in libraries. I grew up in Chicago and the library has always been an important part of my life. My first professional job experience was working as a children's librarian for the Los Angeles Public Library. I still love children's books.

I currently work as Senior City Librarian at the Camarillo Library in Ventura County, California. I enjoy working in a public library with library patrons of all ages. I find my work very stimulating, each day being a unique learning opportunity.

I live with my husband and two stepchildren in Moorpark. My husband and I enjoy hiking, bicycling and astronomy. Next week we are going to Yellowstone National Park for our vacation. I love to travel. I have two daughters in college across the country whom I try to see as often as possible. I am a voracious reader and a member of a bookclub. I enjoy literary fiction, mysteries, travel books and memoirs.

I look foward to meeting everyone. It sounds like our week together will be a very challenging, informative and stimulating experience.
