Diane Bills

Diane Bills My name is Diane Bills, and I am a supervising Librarian with the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library. I have worked in this system for 10 years and currently supervise the branch library in Manteca, CA.

I am a California native, born in San Francisco.

My first job in a library was in college, where I found out that it was indeed the best job on campus. Oddly enough, I never thought of it as a career until I needed to find a job when my girls were small. Working as a Circulation clerk at our public library helped supplement what my husband was earning. It wasn't too long before I realized that I wanted to find the answers, not check out the books. With the support of my family (and the Tulare County Library System) I went back to school. I graduated with my MLS in 1991 and started here in the San Joaquin County the same year. I've enjoyed every library job I've had; it just keeps getting more interesting.

Our girls are now grown, so I have more time for reading and other hobbies, such as gardening, quilting, crafts, and antique hunting. But reading is still my favorite pasttime.

Looking forward to August!
