Susan Carr Brown My name is Susan Carr Brown, and am another attendee from Minneapolis Public Library. Nina gave a wonderful overview of what is currently going on at Minneapolis Public -- it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to plan for a new, urban central library. I currently am temporarily detailed as a district manager for the community libraries. I manage one of the larger branches and also oversee 4 community libraries in the system. I will be returning to the Central Library this fall to supervise the Children's Dept. and am excited to help plan for the interim and new libraries. In my 19 years at Minneapolis Public, I have worked in some capacity at just about every public department in the Central Library and have worked at many of the branch libraries as well -- I like change! I think I must also like chaos a bit, too, which is probably why I'm looking forward to the whole process of moving to an interim library, as we await the building of the new one. Like so many Minnesotans, I was born and raised here and will probably never leave, even though the climate, to put it mildly, is rather harsh. I am really looking forward to our experience at Stanford, and to meeting all of you.
