Shannon S. Burchard All I can say is "WOW". This is looking like it will be one of the most
interesting and exciting experiences of my professional life so far.I have been working in libraries for about twelve years now, the last five as a professional. I started working in Tech Services while a student at the University of California, Riverside. After graduation I moved to San Francisco and began working at the University of San Francisco Law Library as an Acquisitions assistant. While there, I commuted to San Jose State University and received my MLIS in December of 1995. With my MLIS in hand, I traveled east to the University of Delaware as a serials librarian. After two years of working for the best boss ever (Josie Williamson will always hold a special spot in my heart), the call of California was just too great for my husband and I (we are both California natives). I then became the electronic services / systems librarian at the San Francisco Law Library. After two years, the complete automation of the library, and the birth of my son, I felt I needed to move on. This brings me to where I am now, back at the University of San Francisco Law Library as the technical services librarian. I come back to USF in a new library building and with a desire to reinvigorate our services and to think beyond the box. I look forward to meeting everyone in August and may see some of you at ALA.
