I am very much looking forward to participating in the Institute. I first heard about it from my colleague here at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Belen Caban. She attended last year and has really made a difference here in our library system in the last year by acting upon what she learned at Stanford. We are all fortunate that she will be an intern at this year's Institute.

I have been with the Columbus Metroploitan Library since 1987. I got my library degree after about 10 years in retail management. I worked for 11 years as a juvenile services librarian before becoming manager of the Northside Branch, which is a small, urban branch between downtown Columbus and the Ohio State University campus. My branch serves the most diverse collection of urban neighborhoods in the Columbus area.

I'm excited about meeting everyone and participating in the Institute.
