Joe DiMercurio

Joe DiMercurio My name is Joe. As an old guy, over the half century mark, I am always amazed at how wired-in librarians (and a trustee) are. Just put up a listserve and they are right there contributing. I am also always pleased to see just how sharing librarians are as a group.

I am really looking forward to spending time with all of you. I spent a long time in the private sector, during a previous life, but about 16 years ago I quit and started teaching. From there, I became a school librarian and that's what I am doing today. I work at Malibu High School. (I know, some one has to do it.) I grew up in Mountain View, just down the road from Palo Alto, attended UC Santa Cruz and did my graduate work at UCLA. It will be great to spend time in the Bay Area. My favorite bookstore in the whole world is Kepler's in Menlo Park. For those of you who don't know it, I promise to organize a field trip.

I will be at ALA and, even if there isn't a formal meeting, maybe those of us that are at ALA can get together for face-to-face introductions.

Until later,
Joe DiMercurio
