I just got back from a conference on local government in Dublin, Ohio. The conference was inspiring and the surroundings beautiful, and now I have the Stanford Institute to look forward to. I can see that this is going to be an inspirational summer for me.

My name is Chris Doxtad and I'm the Collection Development Manager for the Sunnyvale Public Library in Sunnyvale, California. I've worked in libraries for 20 years -- as a children's librarian for many years, then moving on to adult services, and finally to this position which I've held for a year and a half. I have two teenagers, I like to ballroom dance and I play the flute in the Nova Vista Symphony and I love library talk! I'll be at ALA on Monday and hope to meet some of you, the rest I will look forward to meeting in August.
