The talk will cover what Mr. Manley has learned about organizational effectiveness after working for 25 years in an unusual variety of business, government, and nonprofit environments.

Martin Manley. Marty is President and CEO of Alibris, the leading global supplier of rare, used, and hard-to-find books. Prior to founding Alibris with Dick Weatherford, Manley served as Managing Director of Strategy and Business Services for Kaiser Permanente, where he led a major restructuring of hospital services. In 1993, Marty was named by President Clinton to serve as U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor, responsible for creating a federal agency to promote workplace innovation. He has advised executives of technology, service, and manufacturing companies as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and Waterman & Company. Marty graduated with honors from the University of California and Harvard Business School.
